This role is working 40 hours per week and 48 weeks per year.

Our pupils are amazing and they deserve amazing support staff! An opportunity has arisen for a School Office Manager to join the team at Mapesbury School supporting colleagues, pupils, parents/carers and other partners with all aspects of school office administration and support.  

As School Office Manager, you will always put our pupils at the centre of your work, supporting them to thrive in the school environment so that they develop the skills needed for life. You will be a competent and experienced administrator, who is comfortable working with a range of systems and processes to ensure the smooth running of all aspects of administration within a school setting. Your highly developed communication skills will enable you to work with a wide range of stakeholders and successfully manage the school office. You will be a team player and ideally have previous experience of HR and payroll administration. Above all, you will have a commitment to safeguarding and supporting the development of children with special educational needs to ensure they achieve the best possible outcomes.  

Mapesbury School is an independent special school providing education for 54 pupils whose primary diagnosis is Autism and who have often struggled in mainstream settings. We offer an appropriate environment with small group sizes and put our pupils at the centre of everything that we do.

Mapesbury School, part of Kedleston Group Limited, is an independent specialist day school in London for 54 children and young people aged between the ages of 7 and 17 and who have Autism (ASC) and other specific learning difficulties.

You will be expected to engage in annual safeguarding training, be familiar with key policies and ensure you know the steps to take should you be made aware of a safeguarding or child protection concern. You will remain vigilant and act swiftly if you have concerns about a child and be an appropriate role model for both children and colleagues at all times. 

The successful candidate is required to provide references and will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS check. We will ask you to complete a criminal self-declaration form, and we will conduct online searches for information that is publicly available.
