Based across site at Leaways School in Clapton and Silverways School in Enfield, this role is working 40 weeks per year during school term time and INSET plus 6 weeks holiday to be taken during school closure periods.

About the role:

As an Occupational Therapist at Leaways School and Silverways School, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will provide a high quality standard of occupational therapy assessment, management, treatment and advice for a caseload of children aged 9 to 17 with a wide range of emotional, social and mental health difficulties, plan, deliver and evaluate therapy treatment programmes as agreed in the child’s EHCP, work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team and multi-agency teams involved with children and their families, contributing to team meetings, consultations, joint assessments, reviews and staff training.

About you:

For this role, we are looking for someone who has a Dip COT, BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy together with HCPC and BAOT registration and previous experience of working in a special school setting or in a CAMHS service. The focus of this position will be on assessment, diagnosis and implementing strategy to improve educational outcomes in school. There will be a significant focus on working with staff and offering training in schools to create a therapeutic ethos across the whole curriculum that will benefit all of the children. This is an exciting opportunity to become a member of a new clinical team in the London area where your innovative approach and experience to date can genuinely make a difference to the lives of the children placed within our schools. Leaways School, part of Kedleston Group, is an independent specialist day school in Clapton, for children and young people aged between the ages of 7 and 17. The school provides a safe learning environment for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs including autism and an EHC Plan. We also have a dedicated primary unit taking children from 7 years old. We aim to offer as close to a mainstream experience as possible but provide the additional care and support needed around each young person to enable them to thrive.
