Some of the Year 10 students from our Wings School Notts have taken up volunteering opportunities at the local Oasis Community Centre. Every week, they are joined by school staff from Wings, and together, they contribute to the gardens or help out at the Memory Cafe. The Memory Cafe caters for individuals with dementia and their caregivers. Our students help by serving refreshments, engaging in conversations, and organising activities such as games, quizzes, and reading sessions. Witnessing these inter-generational connections forming is truly heart-warming.
Impressively, two of the students went above and beyond by dedicating a Saturday to support the Community Centre's funday. They were joined by the Wings School Notts OT team as part of the Community Skills group, which aims to help young people transition successfully through their final year.
Great work everyone.
