Everybody has got into the birthday groove and we have loads of pictures from around the Kedleston Group.
We kicked off our birthday week in style with two stops on the” Teenager Tour” which saw Chief Executive Paul Brosnan visit both Arc School Napton and Arc School Old Arley.
At both schools, he was put through his paces by our very own miniature Jeremy Paxmans and Kirsty Warks when students from both schools interviewed him on everything from his favourite Kedleston memory (too many to single out!) to whether he was for or against pineapple on a pizza (he’s in favour). The finished interviews will form a special birthday film celebrating Kedleston’s 13th year. Students (and staff) at Arc School Napton took time out from their first SATs to don party hats and pose with the special birthday bunting and selfie-frames all in the name of birthday fun.
On the second stop of his Teenager Tour, at Arc School Ansley, Paul was welcomed by extensive birthday bunting, a series of fantastic musical performances including, of course, “Happy Birthday”, more grilling from our junior journalists and cake….there was also a specially-written and performed “re-imagining” of how Paul and Finance Director Tony Hurran came up with the idea of starting Kedleston all those 13 years ago. Watch out for the film in coming weeks…..
The young people at Arc School Ansley really pulled out all the stops. As well as their performances, they have also created a series of special 13th birthday balloon decorations, made their own bunting, developed a special card which features everyone’s impressions on 13 and a card featuring model aeroplanes.
Elsewhere, we’ve had reports of birthday football matches (first to 13 goals wins at Wings School Notts) and birthday paddle-boarding at Lake Windermere by Wings School Cumbria. The team at head office haven’t been shy with their celebrations either. High Peak produced a young people-based card for the group, with the help of a handy drone. Even Shazia, the Head of our newest, yet to be built school in Bury, got into the frame.
The celebrations will continue throughout May and we’re looking forward to seeing all of the creative ways our fantastic students and staff are celebrating this really special birthday for Kedleston Group.
