The team at High Peak House achieved a rare milestone in the social care industry this week. Every member of the team at High Peak House now holds their Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification.
The qualification takes around 12 months to complete and includes a range of topics to help staff further understand legislation, their role and the children they support.
Staff cover child development and safeguarding in greater detail which directly impacts the quality of outcomes for the children who live with us at High Peak House.
There is a whole team approach to support staff to achieve the qualification through mentoring and encouragement. Registered Manager Tracey Hill said:
“I am delighted for the team in achieving the100% qualified milestone. Not only does it show the commitment by the staff team to increase their knowledge and skills but also the level of staff consistency for the children and home.”
Earlier this year Ofsted rated High Peak House as Outstanding, saying:
“The management team and staff are collectively committed to achieving the best outcomes for the children and ensuring that they receive a model of care that meets their individual needs. The manager recognises the importance of the staff’s need to feel valued, trusted and listened to. She ensures that their good practice is recognised. This means that staff are happy in their roles, which helps them to provide exceptional care.”
Clare Cartright, Training Lead at Kedleston Group commented:
“I’m really proud of all the team, the support from established team members for the learners has been fantastic, and you can really see how the commitment to professional development is reflected through the culture at High Peak House and in turn in the outcomes for the children.”
