Our Equine lead, Miss Atherton and young people at Wings are thrilled to be back at the riding stables and we are very proud to say that four young pupils have recently completed their 'Introduction to Horse Care' AQA certificate.
The pupils were required to identify tack, grooming equipment, points of a horse and bedding before fully preparing their horses for their riding session.
During the process, the pupils were able to observe many similar behaviours of their horses to their own and enjoying working out how to understand what their assigned horse may require before forming a positive and rewarding partnership with them.
The success continued as earlier this month one of our Year 11 pupils, who has been enrolled on the Equine Programme for 2 years, attended Myerscough College in Liverpool for an open morning. She has recently completed a British Horse society Level 2 qualification; this will help her access a Level 3 Animal Care course when she transitions to college next year.
Well Done!
