A specialist school in Warwickshire which supports young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties and autism have been celebrating their recent exam results.
Young people across Arc School Ansley, many of whom have had significantly disrupted education before coming to the school, clocked up an impressive 108 total qualifications, achieving on average eight each. 100% gained Maths, English and Science qualifications.
There were qualifications – both academic and vocational - gained across a wide range of subjects, both academic and vocational, including GCSEs in Maths, English, Single and Combined Sciences, Psychology, History, Food & Nutrition. The young people also achieved qualifications in ICT, Computing, Creative Media, Personal & Social Development, Sports Science, Art & Design, Public Services and Duke of Edinburgh. All students gained a qualification in BTEC Personal & Social Development.
In total, the young people gained 37 GCSEs across the school and of the 14 Year 11 leavers, six have left with four or more GCSEs. A total of 64% of students gained a Maths and English GCSE qualification, 64% students gained GCSE English at Grades 4-6 and 85% of students gained a Maths GCSE. In Science GCSE, 43% students gained the qualification at Grades 3-9.
And it was certainly a day to celebrate for one student who gained six GCSEs at Grades 5-9 including in the subjects of Psychology and History.
Across the school, their achievements have helped them secure places at mainstream colleges to study a wide range of subjects.

Arc School Ansley is a day school and provides education and care for children with an autism spectrum conditions as well as social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The school is part of the Kedleston Group which has a range of residential and day schools across the UK.
