As part of their continuing work with Young Writers, the children at Mill School Bury created mood boards and wrote poems around the theme ‘Empowered’.

Young Writers invited children to write a poem for Empowered and take back some control over their lives. Empowered helps children find and use their voices to express themselves through poetry.

Being able to voice a concern, an opinion or a point of view is so important, especially when interaction with peers has been restricted or even removed during an academic year, reducing opportunities to discuss what matters to them.
