The Great Outdoors

We view the outdoors as an excellent learning space where learning can come to life and enable many of our pupils to engage at their best. Our staff work hand in hand with our outdoor education experts to maximise opportunities for the creative learning of core subjects in the great outdoors.

We are fortunate to have a fabulous and extensive site with beautiful grounds which we use to full effect to deliver a wide range of outdoor learning opportunities, including forest school, horticulture, play-based learning, animal care and many more.

Active Bodies and Healthy Minds

We want every pupil to leave us with the motivation, confidence and skills to lead a healthy and active life. To achieve this our Physical Education curriculum is designed to teach the fundamentals of movement and health and wellbeing, this includes skills such as balance, fine motor skills as well as mental health and emotional and social well-being. There are also opportunities to excel in competitive sport and the school regularly participates in sporting fixtures with other schools.

Our Physical and Outdoor Education programmes enable pupils to develop leadership and transferable skills and gain recognised qualifications through awards from sports affiliated bodies including, Duke of Edinburgh Award, Sports Leadership Award, First Aid, Swim England awards and more.
